I got the message as an unknown error occurred in outlook 2007, what’s the problem ?
Suddenly while I was working with outlook 2007, it closed. Next time I tried starting Outlook I got a message as “an unknown error occurred error code 0x80040600” Outlook needs to close. Since then all my work is hampered, as I cannot check emails or reply. What going wrong and how to fix it problem?

You simply don\'t have to worry at all, you just need to use the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) provided as inbuilt repairing tool with outlook. It has to be used as follows-
- From start – search-for files or folders
- Specify the file to be searched as scanpst.exe
- Once you find it, open the file and click the browse button
- After this browse to select the PST file and click on start button
- On completion of scan click on repair button for repairing the files
- After this open Outlook again, hope you don\'t come across the same error again
While other option would be using Outlook 2007 repair software that does the same task but with more efficient techniques and ensures repair of the damaged file and restore the files data into a new PST file.
