How to convert the oversized PST file into the new outlook 2007 ?
I was moving emails to a folder in MS outlook 2000 and once of all it locked up, with blinking of the screen and all my emails and contacts have disappeared. By going through Microsoft website I come to know about inbox repair tool and its use. It started normally and after running for sometime it stopped saying ”An error has occurred which caused the scan to be stopped, no changes have been made”, trying every time gives the same error. Besides that none of the PST files can be opened, it says “properties for the information service must be defined prior to use” again telling to use inbox repair too. As nothing is working I am finally thinking that I should convert the PST file into the new Outlook 2007, any suggestions on it.
It generally happens so that converting to higher editions solve the problem, particularly because of the better file management system they have and it more obviously happens when the problems arises due to oversized PST file. As you must be known to the fact that Outlook 2000 has 2 GB file size limitation and if the size of PST file increase above that PST file become logically corrupted. Whereas Outlook 2007 has 20 GB capacity so it would likely solve the problem. Apart from that converting to outlook 2007 may create problems due to file format difference used for storing data, and that can easily be fixed with the use of Outlook 2007 repair software. It with its advanced scanning algorithm will first scan the drive and then save the data into a new PST file.
