How to fix “errors have been detected in the file outlook.pst outlook 2007” ?
I am not able to complete lots of my work as I could not get to my mailbox. When I opened office outlook 2007 the main interface came up and a small bubble near the system tray displaying the message that outlook did not close properly last time. Next when I click on inbox (it tells 20 new mails) suddenly an error message saying that it cannot display the folders “errors have been detected in the file outlook.pst outlook 2007”. Quit outlook and all mail enabled application and then use the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file. After much effort I finally found scanpst.exe utility which completed scan with errors after repairing which I recovered personal folder but it only has the basic folders (inbox, calendar) and other personal folders are lost, I want the files back they are really important?

Many a times it happens so that scanpst.exe either does incomplete repair work or no repair at all, basically at times it is unable to detect the error as well. So, it is always recommended to keep a backup of the PST file before using scanpst, hope you have that.
